STUNNING SILVERSTONE SUCCESS FOR THE MOTOGP.


The first major event on the Silverstone Calendar was the 2010 Air Asia British Grand Prix on the 18-20th June. Over 145,000 fans attended over 3 days making this a fantastic success. More than 70,000 sundrenched Bikers enjoyed the Sunday events at the Northamptonshire circuit.


Yamaha team rider Jorge Lorenzo clocked up his 3rd win of the season starting from pole.


The newly built course got a thumbs up from riders on the 3.66 mile circuit, they all enjoyed the thrill of the smooth and flowing nature of the new track. Lorenzo wowed the crowds as usual in the MotoGP class Bradley Smith was on podium and Danny Webb ans Scott Reading also gave strong performances in front of a fantastic home crowd finishing 10th and 4th respectively in the 125 c. c. class.


Off the track there was also some "A-list" celebs in the crowd such as Dame Kelly Holmes, Matt Le Blanc and F1 Champions Mark Webber, Martin Blundell, Karun Chandhok, Johnny Herbert and Anthony Davidson were also in the crowd.


Saturday night over 3,000 revellers enjoyed interviews with the rich and famous on the large stage in the entertainment zone. Stunt rider Dougie Lampkin entertained the crowd with some Stunning Cunning Stunts Shows. Some spectacular shows by Red Bull X Fighters performed the fantastic X Jam Free Style Motocross Shows along with the Red Bull pr Nationals on a specially designed Track.


This brilliant day of champions raised over £150,000 for Riders for Health Charity. To top off the day the crowd were treated to a fly by from a Typhoon, the Red Devils parachute display team and the Blades Aerobatic Display Team. Just in case you didn't want to go home there was entertainment by Jamie Whitham "PO BOYS" and Marner Brown with a Pink Floyd tribute band "The New Machine".


The organisers were overjoyed with the success of the weekend exceeding attendance by 10,000 visitors and tickets are now on sale for next year which promises to be even better.
